On Friday we received our call from our sponsor Karen with the wonderful news.
We have a baby girl
Her name is Yong Ning Xi
She is 11 months old
Our little flower is a HUNAN GIRL just like her big sister Angel. We are so thrilled that our girls are from the same place. It is a dream come true.
In China they say the most beautiful girls come from HUNAN...I know this to be true just by looking at our beautiful daughter Angel.
In China they also say that the Hunan babies are "SPICY"...and believe me I know this to be true as well!!!
This week we should get her picture along with all her information.
Georgia girl we are getting closer!!!
Thank you Lord

What province is your daughter from?
Our daughter is from DaoXian and her name was Yong Xiao Ou. Is she in Yongzhou?
I meant what orphanage, not what province... sorry
Congrats! I am so happy for you!
Keep smilin!
Congratulations!
Our duaghter is from LanShan, about 30 minutes from NingYuan. We spent the night at a hotel in NingYuan on our way to visit LanShan in August 2007- the countryside around there is beautiful! There was a Canadian family who just visited the NingYuan SWI in April. Join the the Yongzhou Yahoo group if you have not done so already!

good luck joining the Yongzhou yahoo group. I have been trying for months now. I guess whoever the admin is for it is not approving new memberships or something. I can't get any answers from them! Several people have tried to join with no luck. :( very sad.
Congrats on your referral! I found your site from RQ, as we wait for the referral of our second child. Our daughter is from the exact same institute as your daughter. Our daughter's Chinese name is Yong Ning Ying. She is from Ningyuan, Yongzhou, Hunan.
You will get tons of info from the Yongzhou Yahoo group. Though, it sounds like the admin may be behind in processing requests to join. Stick with it; the information is invaluable.
Feel free to send me PM if you'd like.
I remember when we tried joining the Yongzhou group 2 years ago it took awhile (a week or two) to be approved. In the meantime there is a Ningyuan Yahoo group too, perhaps they are quicker to approve membership.

Yes, please join our Ningyuan group (I'm the moderator). We're using it as a "work around" passing info back and forth to the main Yongzhou group as well.
We travelled in March 2009 and visited the Ningyuan SWI on our vacation. They had 8 children under 3 at that time. (none older)
There is about 1 nanny for every 2 children. They are very well cared for, it's clean, bright, brand new, and safe.
If you're wondering about donations, they mentioned a need for ointments etc for cleft lip/palate children including for after surgery. You might want to talk to your GP about what he/she can recommend if you're interested in donating that kind of thing.
Even in March it was going up to 75F some days, so you can imagine how hot it is in Ningyuan now! If I was meeting my daughter in Aug/Sept, I would want to keep her well bundled up anywhere that is air conditioned until she has time to adjust to the much colder hotels than non-Chinese are used to.
I won't be near a computer much for the next week, so it may be a week or so before I can get more info to you and approve your membership in the Ningyuan group. Please be patient it will happen! It's a very small group, as Ningyuan SWI is a very small place. We were the first people we know of that have visited the Ningyuan SWI and we're happy to share what we saw, and it's good news.
Congratulations on your news and big hugs to jie jie!
Sincerely,
Laurie and Brian T.
